Gulyás (or Hungarian Goulash) is a traditional Hungarian stew or soup made with beef, onions, paprika, and other seasonings. It is known for its rich, hearty flavour and is a staple dish in Central European cuisine. Unlike thick stews, authentic Gulyás has a soupy consistency and is often enjoyed with bread or dumplings. The dish dates back to medieval Hungary when shepherds would prepare it over open fires.
