Lomi

Lomi also called Pancit, Lomi is one of the varieties of noodle dishes in the Philippines. Lomi is a thick and hearty soupy noodles much like a thick Sauce cooked with chicken liver, assorted vegetables, like carrots and cabbage and beaten eggs is added, too. Sometimes , it can be cooked with pork meat or shrimps, slices of chorizos , too depending on the recipe to be followed. Every household has their own recipe, very much like cooking the other noodle dishes in the Country.

Lomo a lo pobre

Lomo a lo pobre refers to a dish made of beefsteak, fried potatoes, a fried egg, usually in restaurants you should expect two and fried onions. Lomo a lo pobre is a dish from Chile made from an ernomous slab of beef topped with two (2) fried eggs and buried in chips.

Lomo Embuchado refers to a cured ham from Andalucia, Spain made from the loin of Pata Negra that is rubbed with pimenton, salt and garlic and then air cured. It is also known as Caña de Lomo.

Lomo Saltado

Lomo Saltado refers one of the most emblematic Peruvian dishes along with Cebiche Lomo Saltado is served as a main dish. Many Chinese has immigrated to Peru some centuries ago, and as result Peru's cuisine became heavily influenced by Cantonese food. Lomo Saltado is a perfect example of this fusion. Lomo Saltado is a beef tenderloin stir-fry with wedges of red onions and tomatoes, dark and light soy sauce and vinegar, served with white rice and potato chips To make Lomo Saltado, a recipe is listed below: Ingredients with their quantities are, 2 pounds steak, 2 onions, 2 tsp minced garlic, 4 tomatoes, 1 tbs red wine, 1 tbs vinegar, 5 potatoes, bell pepper, salt and oil. The steak has to be marinated for an hour in wine and then fried and cooked with garlic. After adding the other ingredients the whole thing has to be cooked and it should be served with fried potatoes and rice.

Lomo Salteado

Lomo Salteado refers to one of the traditional Ecuadorian dishes; a thin beef steak covered with onions and tomatoes.

Lomo-Lomo

Lomo-Lomo also called Lomo Lomo or Lumo-Lumo refers to an Ilocano dish which is made of pork, and other internal organs of the pig, including the brain which is one of the most important ingredients of this dish. It is the pig's brain added to this dish that gives it its distinct flavor. It can also be prepared without the pig's brain, but the taste will not be the same.

Lomo-Lomo is soupy dish that can be both served as a soup or as a main meal with a steaming hot newly cooked rice.

Ilocos is located in the northern part of the Philippines. The people in Ilocos are called Ilocanos. They are known for being industrious and frugal. Their creativity is seen by the dishes that they produce, from meat to seafood to vegetables and fruits and even from rice.

Personal Note: I do not know here in Germany where to buy pig's brain, I have already seen Tripe and liver, but have not asked yet where to find the brain and if at all if I will have the courage to ask where I can find pig's brain. Maybe, I will never be able to find one supermarket which sells it, not even in Asian food shops where I go to. It is said that , Pig’s brain is also Hard to find in the grocery stores in America, so the best places to go to are the Asian or Mexican stores/food shops. Seco de Puerco is the Mexican term for pig's brain.
