Alma is the Hungarian word for "Apple" which is used widely in Hungarian in cooking as it is grown and eaten in the country. Alma is used in cooking varities of Hungarian dishes, such as Almás Metélt or Apple Noodles.

Ananász is the Hungarian word for "Pineapple". Pineapples or Ananász is not grown in Hungary and just one of Hungarian imported fruits, it is used in the country in making baked goods.

Avokádó is the Hungarian word for "Avocado" which remains to be rare in Hungary and Hungarian markets. However, like the "Articsóka", the Avokádó is popular enough to have a restaurant in Budapest named after it.

Agneshka Kurban Chorba refers to a Bulgarian soup of Turkish origin which is actually a boiled mutton soup.

Ayam Benet literally means "smashed chicken" is actually referring to one of the most famous dishes in the sultanate of Brunei which consists of a soup then a bowl of rice and some vegetables along with a quarter or a half of a chicken seasoned with lot of herbs and spices to add a very nice flavor to it. It comes out spicy and crunchy.

Allspice Berry refers to a dried berry of the Pimenta dioica which is sometimes called Jamaican pepper.
