Taslik refers to a Turkish dish made of thin sliced gizzards cooked with chopped green peppers and tomatoes; looking like the classic Menemen, but the the cooked dark gizzards are used in place of the eggs. Taslik can be served as a main dish.
In the Philippines, we also eat and served chicken gizzard cooked Adobo style together with chicken liver. When cleaned and cooked properly, gizzard is a delicious alternative to meat.
Tinürü refers to the name of the old ovens where traditional breads were mostly baked at home in the earlier times. Tinürü is now called "Tandir". Based on Turkey's historical records, assorted flavored breads were created with the addition of butter, spices and fragrant herbs during the feast days of the olden days. Flavorings used were usually spices and herbs, such as salt, cumin, nigella seed, fennel, saffron, sesame, mustard and watermelon seeds.
Delicious flavored breads, sesame, watermelon, sunflower and poppy seeds are still being used nowadays in Germany, Bread with watermelon seeds is my favorite, especially when it is freshly baked, even the watermelon seeds are crispy. I can not resist these breads, one of my favorite things in Germany.
Truite arc-en-ciel is the French for "Rainbow Trout", a kind of fish. Its Latin name is "Onchorynchus mykiss" and comes from family Salmonidae, Rainbow Trout is one of the most beautiful fish to catch, it has iridiscent pinkish markings on its side. Arc en ciel is native to North America, but it has able to acclimatize to European rivers, but in Europe they are mostly farmed.
Truite arc-en-ciel is also called Arc en ciel.
Tri-Tri Cakes refer to one of St. Vincent and the Grenadines dishes which is made with Tri-Tri as the basic ingredient. Tri-Tri are very, very tiny fish which are caught at the river's mouth and is cleaned by adding water to remove all the impurities like bush, small stones, sand which may be included when catching them.
To make Tri-Tri Cakes, season the Tri-Tri with whatever seasoning at hand, salt and pepper, soy sauce, chilis, ground clove, curry powder, etc. chopped onions and garlic, then add flour and egg to make a batter and lasty, fry by dropping spoonfuls in hot
shallow fat till brown on both sides.
Tri-Tri Cakes are served hot or warm with starchy dishes like raosted breadfruit or farine (Coo-Coo) as an appetizer or for breakfast
